AI took everyone by the storm in 2023, and it’s only expected to go higher and beyond in 2024. Take the AI filters that became a boom among youngsters, where they could get their sketches in cartoony styles.
In terms of immersive tech, AI will be more widely integrated to immersive tech platforms like AR, VR, and MR to build projects faster—simply by using text prompts.
It reduces the time and effort needed for designers to build immersive projects. And that’s what Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has been saying to the public.
For that specific AI integration, you might see it soon in Assemblr. Imagine creating your own projects only by typing your prompts to our system, and it will automatically create a few project samples that you can choose and use on your own.
In other aspects, AI can also be made as customer service chatbots or characters to assist people throughout their experience. These days we already know brands that use AI for their day-to-day company activities, but this will be elevated soon.
Seeing the release of Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro, and the soon-to-launch Apple Vision Pro, we know the future for immersive tech is bright in 2024.
These 3 have set the bar high for other devices, but we know for sure that we will see incoming AR/VR headsets with more powerful and robust specifications.
Continuing from the point above, we know that there are far more high quality specs of headsets accessories to come.
We always say that headsets or glasses already do magic for you; you feel like you’re being there around the environment. However, sometimes, being on site and having the sensation of feeling your surroundings still feels so much better.
Now companies are working on making haptic gloves much more real. Thus, they can provide sensations like weights or pressures that feel real with virtual objects.
As for headset devices, we know there’s a lack of one sense: smell. That’s no longer the case when smell is infused into the devices. While wearing headsets, it will also provide scented vapors based on the environment popping up.
VR and AR are two different technologies, but they complement each other well to complete the immersive experiences.

That said, the concept of mixed reality becomes much more concrete—in which the physical and digital world blend in so seamlessly.
Phygital. If that still sounds strange to you, well, it’s kind of fair. It’s actually a mix of “physical” and “digital” words. Just like the name suggests, you combine both the physical and digital worlds to complete your experience as one.

The simplest example would be a digital kiosk. Although you’re visiting a store physically, you will have to order digitally using the kiosk. That’s the blend we’re talking about.
On a bigger scale, if we’re talking about immersive experiences in marketing, phygital is also making its way up. The simplest example is AR-based scannable posters in events. When people visit an event, they can scan the poster with your phone to see the AR popping up above or in front of the posters.
And then, while you’re exploring around the event, you might notice there’s a mini AR game stall standing around the event. You can play around physically yet digitally—simply with their gadgets. People with the highest scores might get rewards for free!
That’s how phygital is, and it’s going to be only more and more cases in the future. Yes, you may expect a lot more creative and innovative phygital campaigns in 2024!
