Catch on the latest updates and insights about the Assemblr ecosystem, immersive technology, and EdTech industry—all in one site.
As we’ve released the Audio feature just a few weeks ago, we know it’s a must to also include a tutorial to help you navigate the feature better. Don’t you?
So in this article, we’re gonna dive deep into Assemblr Studio Audio feature and how to insert the BGM and SFX—because they’re two different things.
While they’re categorized under the same feature, BGM serves as background music along your entire or specific scenes—meanwhile SFX acts as sound effects
Let’s get started!
Make sure that the audio formats are in the form of either MP3, WAV, or OGG.
If you want, you can also choose the BGM from our Audio library. We’ve got a few to help you get started.
And if you’re good with it, click "Use".
1. Change the name of the BGM
2. Play the preview
3. Set the volume by sliding left or right
4. Choose the audio type. Since we’ll use BGM, click on the BGM text.
5. Choose how you want the BGM to be played—be it on the entire project (global) or a specific scene.
If you want it to play on a scene, just click on the scene that you want, and insert the audio.
6. Set if you want the audio to loop or not
If you’re done tweaking the settings, simply click "Place".
If you need to edit your BGM, you can refer to the right panel on your Editor.
There’s an option for you to change your audio, and if you’re done setting the whole thing, simply click "Update".
However, make sure that the formats are in MP3, WAV, and OGG.
Alternatively, we’ve got tons of sound effects provided in our Audio library that suit your needs.
You can also do the same thing with our Audio library.
If you’re done, click "Use".
First up, click SFX on this toggle.
Then you’re going to see a different panel.
You can give names, preview, and change the volume.
Also, you can choose whether you want your audio to loop or not.
If you’re done, click "Place". And just like the BGM, it also displays the settings on the right panel to change your audio and update it.
But that’s not the end of it. We’ve still got a few more to follow!
Yup, SFX is sliiiightly different in terms of the ways on how to input your audio. We’ll show you how:
This means that when you click on the object, the sound will appear.
And then choose the Sound Effect one.
Next, time to choose the sound effect!
It’s very possible to have more than one sound effect in one project, so be careful not to mix the sound ;)
Also, you can do more advanced settings by changing the starting time.
This means when you click on the trigger object, the sound will start playing after the duration that you input. If you're done, click "Apply".
Isn’t that easy? Let’s follow the steps, and get ready to make your projects much more fun and exciting with Audio!
