Catch on the latest updates and insights about the Assemblr ecosystem, immersive technology, and EdTech industry—all in one site.
Back in March, we had a lot of selections for our ACE Corner—and this month is also no exception. We’ve got a lot of teachers that have gained impressive accomplishments, and we’re so proud of it!
As our ACE community is spread all over the world, there are a lot of interesting stories that you will surely be inspired from. Check them out here!
First of all, we want to congratulate Mary as the ACE of the Month for this month! It’s actually her second time being chosen for the title, and for this time, it’s because of her huge contribution towards the Italian community teachers.
Just recently, Mary also opened up an online training course intended for primary teachers—in collaboration with ARS Book, the first Italian 4.0 publishing house. In addition to it, Mary was also selected as the ambassador of ARS Book itself!
The course is called “Augmented Reality and Learning for Primary School”, and according to Mary, it received a huge and nice impression from the participants as well.
“Since teachers can participate freely from their homes, a lot of them are interested in registering for the course. They can learn to use the ARS book and Assemblr as well by following all my instructions, step by step,” adds Mary.
The whole course also issues a certification, which is recognized by the Ministry of Education—and that is a huge point of interest for the teachers.
Later on, Mary will keep on promoting augmented reality to teachers, so they can innovate their methodology and involve students in the knowledge learning process. “Who knows, in the future, I might also organize another one. I’m very satisfied and honored to collaborate!”
What if AR can be used for students' competition? This challenge was undoubtedly answered by one of our Indonesian ACEs, Atik.
Atik invited four of her students to join the International Creativity and Innovation Award (ICIA)—which was held from February to May 2023. The students were then divided into two teams, bringing different solutions according to the issue they genuinely wanted to answer.
The theme of the competition was mainly focused towards sustainable development goals (SDGs), specifically about plastic pollution. All the students were driven to innovate—and one of her teams decided to use a 3D & AR prototype for their project entitled “Vacuum Plastic Reducer (VPR)”.
Atik says that using Assemblr Studio helps them create the 3D & AR project easily and visualize their plans and ideas better to everyone involved—the judges also included.
“We prepared the background problem, composed the hypothesis, researched, and even made a conclusion. Then, we created a 3-minute pitching video—with the help of the parents as well. After going through the curation process, the AR team managed to grab 3 different awards, all at once,” according to Atik.
When they presented the project on site, many of the judges and audience were quite impressed as they could see the visualization of how the machine works. It’s such an amazing thing to witness two 10-year-old students could give birth to a promising solution for such concern.
“Joining an international competition, my motivation is never about becoming a winner. It’s more like building valuable learning experiences—both for my students and myself, too.” – Atik Dian Anggraeni
Kudos to Atik and her students for finishing well!
Another impressive achievement from our Indonesian ACE, Purwanto! Earlier this month, Purwanto managed to get his own exhibition booth at the Lokakarya 7 “Festival Panen Hasil Belajar”—an event held by the Ministry of Education & Culture—in his hometown, Central Bengkulu.
On the booth, Purwanto displayed all his interactive lessons, which also includes Assemblr as the tool with a few combinations with other media like Google Sites and Chatbot.
Around 200 people attended the event—including the District Head of Central Bengkulu, the Head of the Ministry of Education and Culture in Central Bengkulu, and many other important attendants joining the crowd.
“I asked them to scan the AR markers and AR books displayed on the booth, and they were all fascinated about it. They asked how we could use Assemblr EDU for their learning activities!” says Purwanto about the response.
As for his wishes, Purwanto hopes that people will be interested to learn more about Assemblr as one of the supporting learning tools around Central Bengkulu—especially for differentiated learning and the P5 project (Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila).
Looking forward to Purwanto’s next journey! We wish him all the best 😆
