Our ACE teachers do surely love guiding their students for competitions, but Surya Ningsi took it a step further by making her way into a teacher’s competition—and even better, taking the first place of all the participants with Assemblr Studio as her tools.
“The competition is a part of the event series to commemorate National Education Day 2023, held by the Ministry of Education of South Sulawesi. Basically, it’s about making teaching innovations recorded in videos, and I joined the high school grade,” the Chemistry teacher at Bone 1 Senior High School shares with us.
It’s been two good years ever since she’s been using Assemblr to make various learning activities, and so far, it’s always been exciting.
Throughout her experiences with Assemblr, she has made various Chemistry AR lessons for all grades—and that sparks an idea for her to compile them all as the innovation of the competition.
Surya adds more, “I registered, and then I had to create a storyboard for the innovations. If it’s qualified, they selected 135 participants to create the video. Only after that, they filtered the participants, and only 80 participants were selected to join the grand final of the competition.”
Surya got included in the 80 participants, and she presented her lessons in the form of videos she created herself.
“Many of the participants as well as the judges asked questions regarding my lessons and Assemblr Studio. However, rather than panicking, I just explained all the strengths,” she said. “I like Assemblr since it's online-based and paperless. I can bring my lessons to life around the classroom, so it motivates my students to learn excitingly.”
After going through her presentation, finally it was time to announce the winners! She didn’t expect much to win, but eventually, her name came out as the first winner of the competition. For Surya, it was a surreal experience.
Every single participant made their own innovations, and all of them came out quite cool as well. “I also met this participant who used Assemblr for his innovation, but the context is different from mine. He won second place,” says Surya.
As a winner, it doesn’t mean that she’s got her head up high. Instead, she feels even more motivated to learn, create, and innovate with Assemblr. Making student-centered lessons could be hard, but Assemblr can cover all her teaching needs.
Once again, we’d like to congratulate Surya for her achievement! We couldn’t be more proud to have her in our community, and we sincerely hope there’s more to come.
