As modern teachers, we need to keep on developing and following the current era—making sure that we won’t be out of touch with the latest technology.
That’s actually what Noviya, one of Indonesian Assemblr Certified Educator (ACE) members, has been doing. He’s growing his talent, maximizing his capabilities in adopting technology for learning activities.
There are various technology innovations that have been widely used by Noviya—mostly are, of course, AR on Assemblr EDU, VR, PMM videos, Canva, and even Quizziz. All of these innovations have been very helpful to create more effective learning environments.
“Technology might replace us as teachers. That’s why we need to make use of technology to make us irreplaceable,” he continues.
According to Noviya, if you utilize technology wisely, it can help you explain the complex materials in the classroom with more ease, compared to conventional methods.
“Personally, I like using technology like Assemblr EDU for 3D-or-AR-based learning materials. There are various 3D assets and features which allow teachers to design their own learning materials—and present the material as a whole.”
His love for grinding and innovating with technology led him to snatch the title of “Duta Teknologi Kemendikbudristek 2022 Lampung”, a teacher tech ambassador program.
As a tech ambassador, he more or less understands the know-how in using technology for any learning activities.
For Noviya, the first step is important; it’s to be brave and to take action. It’s the very first thing to do if you want to advance with technology. That’s probably not easy, but if you have faith, this will even open the door to many other benefits.
If you have started, make sure to keep on learning. “We need to update ourselves and learn collaboratively with other colleagues with deeper knowledge,” he continues.
However, we also need to pay attention to the timing of utilizing technology in the classroom. It’s not like we’re using it all the time.
And the last but not least is to be consistent and innovate—even though, this one is a tough stuff to do. But all of these can be manageable once you join a great community.
“Community is a must for us to be able to connect with fellow teachers and get updated with the latest information for education. We can also inspire and get inspired while also getting motivated.”
Talking about community, Noviya has been an ACE member for the past few years and has been active ever since. That’s what makes him keep on developing in using Assemblr EDU even more.
He’s now an expert in creating interactive games in the form of 3D or AR experiences, radiating a fun and interactive learning in the classroom.
Even better, with Assemblr EDU, he keeps on inviting his students to create their own projects and get creative with their capabilities.
Again, he insists that all his achievements being a high-tech teacher starts with his sole motivation to not be left behind. He strongly suggests you start using technology as well.
“Our current condition urges us to grow better, learn harder, and collaborate more to give our best service to students. Use technology wisely by adjusting to the needs in the classroom, so you can utilize technology in the right way.”
