Catch on the latest updates and insights about the Assemblr ecosystem, immersive technology, and EdTech industry—all in one site.
Every single person in the Assemblr Certified Educator (ACE) community has their own uniqueness and things that they excel at. Noviya is a living example of them. Not only that he’s quite persistent in leveling up himself, Noviya has also regained a lot of skills—starting from public speaking to being an initiator in gaining members for Assemblr Student Club (ASC). That's what made him chosen to be our ACE of the Month.
It all starts when he learned about the ACE community through a friend from another educational-based community, Baidowi. “From then, I started to understand AR. Prior to this one, I had already known about VR, and I got curious about what’s the difference between the two of them,” says Noviya.
Once he jumps into the ACE community, everything shifts towards a good direction—and it has played a huge influence in Noviya’s growth as well.
Although he started everything from zero, he’s now able to create an interesting AR learning material for his students. It really affects his students’ joy and interest in learning.
“With all the convenience I already experienced, I became certain that I wanted to spread about Assemblr EDU with my colleagues—without a doubt.”
On a national level—precisely Indonesia, there have been lots of experienced teachers, which everyone knows as masters. And for Noviya, they’re the people that he adores the most. Everyone has the heart to share and teach even to the tiniest details.
Another thing that impresses Noviya is the help from the Assemblr team. “They’re really enthusiastic when hearing our feedback. Supported by the great management, we—either new or senior members—feel like we can grow a lot in the community,” Noviya adds.
While exploring his capability in the ACE community, there are a few people who have an immense impact towards his growth and he can count on to. “It’s Pak Agung and Pak Anto,” says Noviya. “Pak Agung never hesitates to give what he owns for the benefit of others—as for Pak Anto, he’s my advisor. He’s also funny and humble, [and] always helps me to solve problems.”
Seeing how everyone progresses in the community also motivates him to do the same. Understanding 3D is only one thing, but another thing that intrigues and ultimately drives him is creating his own webinars and training many teachers.
Up to now, he’s already trained around 1,000 teachers—be it through online or offline webinars. Through his webinars, he also managed to expand his relationship with teachers around Lampung—the city where he currently resides in Indonesia.
“I’m totally aware that I’m still new to this, but I just dared myself to hold basic webinars at the beginning,” says Noviya about his first experience in webinar. “And there’s no need to be shy or doubt yourself.”
Lucky for him, Noviya has these masters who support him and help him collaborate together. By collaborating, not only does it lighten up his “weight”, he can also get to know a lot of new people through the participants of his collaborator.
To let his participants absorb all the materials even better, he also decided to create tutorial videos for them—which will let them repeat the materials over and over again.
Webinars can be limited in terms of time, but if they have the tutorials on their hands, there’s no need to rush and they can understand everything thoroughly.
Along with the new Assemblr EDU student community emerging, Assemblr Student Club (ASC), Noviya also sought to embrace his students. That made him become one of the initiators to gather students and join the community.
“After I got to know about my student’s needs, I decided to introduce the community to students and invited those of them who were quite interested in joining ASC,” he continues.
Up to now, he has gathered around 45 students to join the community, but among them, there are 7 who are categorized as active members. “The top members are also my students, and they’re all excited and enthusiastic. This really motivates other students to join as well!”
If you’re wondering how Noviya could make it this far, it’s actually nothing but a strong will that he possess. “Don’t complain, fight the laziness, and keep on practicing and creating during your free time. You’ll be able to give birth to more innovative ideas, too.”
“Never feel satisfied with your skills and accomplishments today. Keep on learning, and improve your skills. Once you do this, you can also start sharing what we know with other people and be useful for others.”
Regarding his next moves, Noviya also has set a few goals that he wants to achieve in the community—especially in growing the ASC community around his students. “I also want to hold webinars that I have actually planned for a long time called Webinar Mahir (Skillful Webinar),” adds Noviya. “Starting from the most basic things to the most advanced ones, I will continuously hold this webinar in a few series.”
