"Kenali Rupiah", an Interactive Way to Check Rupiah

Bank Indonesia (BI) is the central bank of the Republic of Indonesia, playing a vital role in maintaining monetary stability, ensuring a sound financial system, and supporting national economic growth. Beyond its core functions, BI also focuses on improving public financial literacy through various educational initiatives, one of which is the “Cinta, Bangga, dan Paham (CBP) Rupiah” campaign.

THE CHALLENGE

As part of the CBP Rupiah campaign, Bank Indonesia sought an innovative way to introduce the Rupiah to the public, not only from its economic value but also its authenticity, history, and cultural messages. The challenge lay in creating an educational medium that could clearly convey both general and specific features of the Rupiah, while remaining easy to understand. BI needed a solution that combined accessibility, interactivity, and depth of information in one digital platform.

OUR SOLUTION

To address this, Assemblr collaborated with Bank Indonesia to launch Kenali Rupiah, an interactive Web AR Experience powered by 3D and Augmented Reality technology. The platform allows users to explore Rupiah banknotes in detail through three interaction modes: 3D Mode, Scan with Rupiah, and No-Rupiah Mode. Even without any physical banknotes, users can learn about its security features and authenticity markers. In addition, the website offers supplementary content such as the history of Rupiah, tips on caring for currency, and other educational materials aligned with the CBP Rupiah campaign.
