Catch on the latest updates and insights about the Assemblr ecosystem, immersive technology, and EdTech industry—all in one site.
Ever heard of augmented reality (AR) before? If the name rings a bell for you, then this is probably the second thought you’ll have: it’s going to be hard to create and view it on your own. And that could be true. For some cases, AR requires coding to make the content appear in real life.
But thankfully, if you find the right platform, AR is fairly easy to operate and also create—just like our platform, Assemblr Studio!
Okay, now, what is Assemblr Studio? What can you do with it? Here’s what you need to know:
Assemblr Studio is a free AR platform that enables you to create, view, and share your own AR content. It’s easier and simplifies the complex creation process to a far easier one.
Put away the thoughts of coding. If you’re familiar with Canva, the concept is basically the same. Simply drag and drop the elements available on the editor—such as 2D & 3D objects, images, videos, and texts—and you’ll be able to craft your own AR experiences.
We also open an easy access—you can simply choose using your web browser, which is accessible for all devices including PC, laptop, or mobile devices. However, if you want to view or quickly create your AR content, you can also download the Assemblr Studio mobile application on App Store or Play Store.
Editor will be the space for you to create your own AR experiences. Aside from the elements that we’ve mentioned above like 2D & 3D objects, images, videos, and texts, you can also create magic with our built-in features in the editor.
Let’s say you want to create a presentation. With Assemblr Studio, you can turn your creation into slides of presentations with the Scene feature. The system is basically the same with PowerPoint—you add slides, and then you create a content on the new slide. And there’s no limit for the number of slides!
Besides, you can also use our Interactivity feature, in which you can insert interactive animations to your objects. Just set the trigger object, and when you click or tap on it, it will trigger other objects to move along the animation. It all comes in a few basic animations like Move, Rotate, and Scale—or you can jump to other scenes or open URLs!
After your creation is finished, you can also share your creations in the form of AR markers (we’ll get to this later!), links, or embed code—which you can embed on your blog or website.
If you need to create AR contents with tight deadlines, you can also use our premade AR templates. This will allow you to create right away, without having to start from scratch.
There are various categories of templates, which are grouped based on the general use cases—such as printing, marketing, souvenir, and presentation.
But no worries, if you want to modify the templates, you’re more than free to do it—just in case you want to add a few things to the template. However, make sure to publish it, so the template will be published under your name.
After the whole creating process, now’s the time to actually view your creation! In Assemblr Studio, you can view your creation in the form of 3D or AR experiences.
For the 3D View, you can simply use it right away without having to pop it up around you. Meanwhile, for the AR View, you need to scan around your environment, so you can view your creation coming alive right around you.
This might sound strange to you. What is an AR marker, exactly? Well, to be put easily, an AR marker is an image that functions to trigger your AR content, so that it will appear right on top of the image.
In Assemblr Studio, an AR marker has two different forms—the QR and custom marker. QR marker—just like its name—is a QR code that you can scan to pop up your AR content. It’s already made by system, so we won’t be able to customize the code by ourselves.
However, the case is different when we’re talking about custom markers. It’s a customized marker, so you can basically use any image or graphic that you want. It’s highly suitable for different media—such as the lid or label of any product packaging, brand logo, poster, flyer, illustration, etc.
Marketplace is like a hub for any premium digital items available in our ecosystem. Here, you can find 3D bundles—be it Pro (made by Assemblr team) or Special (made by IPs, brands, or enterprises) bundles. Along the way, we will also provide more items to be sold—starting from avatars & accessories to virtual spaces.
For purchasing, you can basically choose different payment methods—one of them is BLR Coins, our digital currency for Assemblr ecosystem.
Assemblr Studio is open to use for any individual, business, or company needs. It can also be used for a wide range of industries—ranging from education, marketing, automotive, interior, retail, and many more.
When your friend’s having a birthday party, and you want to wish a fun and proper happy birthday, you can actually make it more meaningful and memorable. Simply upload the design of your card as a custom marker, and you can ask your friend to scan the card with Assemblr Studio and pop up the content.
Now, what about other industries? For small business owners, big brands, or home industries, you can actually use Assemblr Studio to visualize your products in the form of 3D or AR experiences.
If you want to promote your products or services, you can also use Assemblr Studio to add an extra layer to your posters, flyers, or packaging, so you can insert additional information regarding your products or services.
